An outstanding warrant has been issued for a Newalla man after being accused of home repair fraud in Washita County.

According to a probable cause affidavit, 46-year-old Homer Kyle Black had allegedly received a check worth just over $3,000 after entering into an agreement with a Burns Flat woman to build a carport. It was agreed between the two parties that when the project was completed, he would receive the other half of the payment.

The woman told a Washita County Sheriff’s Deputy that Black had stopped responding to phone calls, text messages, and emails from the woman, after nearly a week since entering into the agreement.

The affidavit stated that bank records showed that Black had deposited the check shortly after receiving it from the victim.

Black was formally charged with home repair fraud – a felony – in Washita County District Court last month.
