The runners that qualified to run in the State Cross Country Meets on Saturday will have to wait a few extra days. The OSSAA announced late yesterday they would be moving the 2A-6A Girls & Boys State meets from Saturday Oct 30th to Wednesday Nov 4th.

The schedule times and order of the races will remain the same. The decision to postpone a couple days was made due to damage to the course and safety of the runners. The State Meet will be held at Edmond Santa Fe High.

In the Class 2A girls meet teams from Merritt, Hollis, Hooker, Hobart as well as a few individual runners: Hailey Whiteneck from Cheyenne and Quinby Rainey of Hammon will run at 2:30. In the Class 2A Boys meet, Merritt-Carnegie-Hooker will compete for the team title. Individuals include Rowdy Randell from Hollis and Cooper Frymire of Thomas. The 2A boys will run at 2:50. In the Class 4A girls meet, Wford will chase a team title. Elk city’s Matti Jones will run as an individual. The 4A girls will start at 12:30. Elk City and Weatherford will run for a 4A boys team title. That race will begin at 12:50.
