A two vehicle accident in Washita County involving a semi has put a Weatherford man in the hospital.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the accident occurred early Tuesday afternoon on State Highway 54, five miles south of State Highway 152 when a Ford Mustang driven by the Weatherford man was southbound on the highway. The report stated that the man traveled left of center and struck the front end of an oncoming 2005 Peterbuilt driven by 44-year-old Brandon Yeager, also of Weatherford.

The driver of the Mustang – whose name is being withheld pending the notification of family – was flown to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City and admitted with a leg injury in stable condition.

Yeager was uninjured in the crash.

OHP says both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the mishap.
