Voters in the Canute School District passed two bond propositions at the ballot box on Tuesday.

According to the ballot, the propositions will provide schools across the district with facility, technology and transportation improvements.

Both propositions passed with over 75% approval each.

The approved proposals include junior high and high school students each receiving Chromebooks, while the district’s iPads will be distributed to elementary students. 10-passenger vans for small-group elementary, junior high and high school extracurricular trips and field trips, including one with a wheelchair lift; an agricultural truck to support the needs of FFA students; and four 54-passenger buses for transportation to and from school, including one with a wheelchair lift.

The bonds will also go towards upgrades to make the campus accessible to all students and guests and allow the district to meet the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The bonds do not include a projected tax increase.
