Carter Woman Reaches Plea Deal – Sentenced in Texas

On Monday, April 12, three pleas took place in the 100th Judicial District Court in Childress County, Texas.

One involved a suspect from Carter in Beckham County.

It was announced in a press release that Luke Inman, the District Attorney for the 100th Judicial District, along with Assistant District Attorney Harley Caudle, prosecuted the cases for the State of Texas, with the Honorable Judge Stuart Messer presiding.

35-year-old Jennifer Marie Frances Acuna, of Carter was placed on three years probation for the state jail felony offense of possession of a controlled substance. Acuna was arrested by Childress Police Sergeant Matthew Bradley on July 13, 2019.

Acuna was also ordered to pay a $2,500 fine to Childress County, Texas, $340 in court costs, $180 drug lab restitution and complete 100 hours of community service. If her probation is revoked, Acuna faces up to two years in prison in Texas.
