Election Results: Granite School Passes Propositions

The proposed franchise agreement with Public Service Company of Oklahoma put before Weatherford voters Tuesday night with overwhelming support.

According to the Oklahoma Election Board, a total of 250 voters turned out and passed the agreement with 91% of the yes vote.

Elsewhere, residents living in the Granite school district passed two propositions totaling $625,000 yesterday. The first passed by receiving 72% of the yes vote and will go towards improvements to the district’s gymnasium and HVAC upgrades to the school’s kitchen and gym.

The second proposition passed by 71% and will go towards transportation improvements.

Also in the area, the Hobart school district had a proposition pass by receiving 75% of the yes vote.

All schools propositions in the state must pass with 60% or more of approval from the public.
