Elk City Alumni Gather Over the Weekend

August 8, 2023

Press Release

Former Elk City students who attended through the 2005 school year gathered in Elk City this past weekend in a huge reunion celebration.

Alumni came from all over the country to renew old friendships and get a glimpse of Elk City and how the school has changed with tours led by Superintendent Mike Sparks.

Over 1,200 gathered on the two nights at the Elk City Convention Center. Alumni Secretary Linda Cook was surprised with the “Big Elk Heritage Award” for her 40 years of pride and loyalty to the Elk City School District and the Elk City Alumni Association.

The “Belle of the Ball” was 102-year-old alum Gayne Heckroot who attended both nights and was surrounded by alumni who wanted a picture with her.

The next reunion is scheduled for August, 2026 and will include all classes through 2006.
