Contested School Board Races Set Across Western Oklahoma Tuesday

Western Oklahoma – Voters across western Oklahoma will head to the polls Tuesday to decide several local school board races, with multiple districts featuring contested elections.

In Mangum Public Schools, Anna Rogers and Billy Peterson are seeking the Office No. 1 seat. The race is one of several across the region drawing interest as communities weigh leadership for their local schools.

At Sentinel Public Schools, Amy Sanders faces Riley Ridling for the Office No. 1 position. The district also has a second race on the ballot, with Beau Moles and Aaron Spinhirne competing for Office No. 4, an unexpired term.

In Canute Public Schools, Darrell L. Price and Carrie Shelton will square off for the Office No. 1 seat.

Weatherford Public Schools voters will choose between Matthew Fast and Rene E. Soto for Office No. 1, while in Reydon Public Schools, Cory J. Hartley and Heather Shaw Burns are on the ballot for the same office.

In Burns Flat-Dill City Schools, Jimmy F. Piercey and Charles Roles are competing for the Office No. 1 position.

School board members play a key role in setting district policy, overseeing budgets, and guiding the direction of local education.

Polls will be open Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
