A Wellington, Texas man is dead after being hit by a car while riding a bicycle on a county road.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident occurred Sunday night, just before 8:30 p.m. on a county road one mile east of Wellington in Collingsworth County.
DPS officials said that’s when 31-year-old Ramiro Perez-Hernandez was struck by a 2013 Nissan Altima driven by a 16-year-old female from Shamrock, Texas.
DPS said Perez-Hernandez was pronounced deceased on the scene by the Collingsworth County Justice of the Peace.
The report stated that the teen driver was unlicensed and released to a family member on the scene with charges pending the outcome of the ongoing investigation.
