During the regular meeting of the Clinton City Council on Tuesday, the council approved a resolution setting a new filing period for various seats that will be up for grabs on the city council.
Mayor David Berrong says this is the third time the council has had to approve this resolution.
The new filing period is now scheduled for August 24 through August 26 with two city council seats, currently held by Ernie Dowdell and Bobby Stewart, and the mayor’s position up for election.
A primary election date, if needed, is scheduled for November 3, with a general election scheduled for February 9, 2021.
