An Altus man died Friday evening after being involved in a two vehicle accident near Cordell.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol’s collision report, the accident occurred around 7:10 p.m. on U.S Highway 183 when a 2003 Chevrolet Impala crossed left of center and struck a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado.
Troopers said the driver of the Impala, 37-year-old Charles McDowell of Altus, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Four people in the Silverado, including two children, were taken to Oklahoma City hospitals with various injuries. Their conditions have not been released.
