January Sales Tax Numbers

The latest sales tax numbers have been released and most western Oklahoma communities saw a slight dip in collections when compared to the same time a year ago.

The latest numbers reflect sales tax intake from the month of January.

Starting with the three largest cities in the area, the City of Elk City saw a slight decrease at 0.3% by collecting $1,093,047.80. The City of Weatherford was down just 0.1% by bringing in $996,794.12. The City of Clinton collected $473,590.16, a 10% decrease when compared to last year.

By comparison, the City of Altus was way up by an impressive 27% with an intake of $1,203,196.38 of sales tax dollars and Woodward saw a small half of a percent decrease by bringing in $997,863.48.

Smaller communities in the area had Sayre down 11.6% ($126,686.62), Mangum up 12.5% ($47,283.17), Hobart down 0.8% ($111,594.86) and Cordell down 4.3% ($85,715.55).

The state as a whole was down 2% by collecting $205,716,196.12 in the month of January.
