Oklahoma Legislative Session Begins Monday

February 2, 2024

With the upcoming legislative session on the horizon, Oklahoma lawmakers are preparing to introduce bills.

Part of the process, says District 57 Representative Anthony Moore (R-Clinton), is getting reaction from fellow lawmakers and constituents regarding bills and also doing various studies regarding proposed bills with most of those studies surrounding the financial impact they could have if passed.

One bill Rep. Moore plans to introduce intends to expand Oklahoma’s Promise to kids of full time educators who have taught for ten or more years in the state. Moore says the idea of the bill is to attract teachers to Oklahoma and also to retain current educators.

Moore will once again serve as the chair of the Higher Education and Career Tech committee this year.

The 2nd Session of the 59th Legislature is scheduled to begin on Monday.
