One Vehicle Accident Near Clinton Hospitalizes One

A one vehicle accident on Interstate 40 in Custer County hospitalized a Minnesota woman over the weekend.

According to the collision report provided by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the accident occurred Saturday night just before 11 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-40 near mile marker 67 when the 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander driven by 51-year-old Marco V. Lopiccolo of Las Vegas, Nevada exited the road to the right and struck a ditch embankment, causing the vehicle to roll an unknown amount of times.

Troopers said as a result the passenger in the car, 38-year-old Ashley M. Laventure of New Brighton, Minnesota was admitted into OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City with head and back injuries. She was last listed to be in fair condition.

The driver was treated and released at the scene.

Troopers said both occupants of the vehicle were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
