Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO) announced a $5,000 American Electric Power Foundation grant to the Western Oklahoma Family Care Center in Elk City.
AEP Foundation is the charitable arm of American Electric Power, PSO’s parent company.
Western Oklahoma Family Care Center (WOFCC) will use the funding to assist families struggling with the higher cost of living, ensuring family stability, preventing homelessness and improving quality of life.
The grant will mean WOFCC can grow its benevolence budget to $30,000 this year, a 42% increase over 2020 levels.
“PSO recognizes that these are challenging times for many Oklahomans. From rent to the price of food, inflation is taking a bite on working family budgets,” said PSO External Affairs Manager Mike Hixson. “We hope this grant from the AEP Foundation will bring comfort and stability to Oklahomans who need a helping hand.”
Liberty McArthur, executive director of WOFCC said: “We appreciate the generosity of the AEP Foundation and the advocacy of PSO. Their help will mean we can help people in need from throughout our region.”
