The inaugural event for Southwestern Oklahoma State University President Dr. Diana Lovell was held Friday afternoon inside the Fine Arts Center on the Weatherford campus.
In front of former presidents, SWOSU administration, staff, and students, Dr. Lovell gave her inauguration address that included her history of growing up in Weatherford, her connection to the university, and what drew her back to SWOSU in her new role.
She also noted SWOSU’s far reach that included SWOSU’s Sayre campus, and Yukon campus.
Dr. Lovell also stressed that the university will also continue to provide affordable education.
Lovell is the 18th president of the university. She was born and raised in Weatherford with both her parents teaching at SWOSU with her father serving as chair of the Biology Department and mother teaching in the Home Economics Department.
