The Albuquerque, New Mexico woman accused of leading multiple agencies on a high speed pursuit earlier this month in Beckham County was formally charged last week.

Court documents also revealed that the woman was in possession of handguns during the pursuit.

According to court filings, 23-year-old Brianna Kaylynn Garcia has been charged with endangering others while eluding or attempting to elude police, possession of a firearm after a former felony conviction, knowingly concealing stolen property, identity theft, falsely impersonate another to create liability, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

The incident took place on the morning of March 15.

A probable cause affidavit showed that after leading Beckham County Deputies, Sayre Police, Elk City Police, and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol on a high speed pursuit through Sayre streets, I-40, and Elk City streets, a search of the vehicle would turn up a 9 millimeter semi-automatic pistol that contained a fully loaded magazine and one round in the chamber, and a .44 caliber revolver that contained full metal jacket rounds.

Authorities say they also found additional rounds of ammunition in the car, along with drug paraphernalia.

After her arrest, during an interview with police, the suspect admitted that the drivers license she had, along with the car, was not hers.

Police would also learn that Garcia was an alleged serial shoplifter, whose method of operation was filling a basket full of merchandise, pull out a gun, and at times would fire shots while she fled the store.

It was also noted that in one incident, Garcia allegedly drug a police officer by her car.

The affidavit also revealed that Garcia is a person of interest in a homicide case out of Albuquerque.

Her next court date in Beckham County District Court is scheduled for April 25.
