A Wewoka man is accused of driving over night to Elk City and threatening his ex-girlfriend and another man with a gun earlier this month.

According to court records, an outstanding warrant for the arrest of 64-year-old Larry Don Nuckols was issued in Beckham County recently after Nuckols received felony charges related to the incident that took place on October 6.

Then, according to the probable cause affidavit, Nuckols allegedly entered his ex-girlfriend’s Elk City home at 4 a.m., entered her bedroom, and allegedly brandished a handgun while stating he was going to kill the woman’s boyfriend who was present at the time.

The affidavit said that 4 juveniles were inside the home during the incident.

The woman would tell police that she was able to talk Nuckols into putting down the gun and leave the home.

Later when contacted by phone, Nuckols would tell police that he did drive the three hours to Elk City from Wewoka but said his intention was to pick up a dryer that was in the front lawn. He claimed he entered the home to let the woman know that he had taken the dryer.

When asked why he was carrying a gun, he said in case a dog came at him.

Nuckols received a first degree burglary charge, along with a possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony charge and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
