A Woodward man accused of abusing and holding his girlfriend against her will at an Elk City home has been arrested and charged in Beckham County.

According to court records the woman was pregnant at the time of the incident.

A probable cause affidavit shows that 19-year-old Tanner Dewayne Moore was arrested on August 22 after his girlfriend, who he shared a home with, told police that the defendant had assaulted her by pushing her to the floor from behind – which caused the woman to scrape and bruise her knees, and throw a television remote at her, hitting her on the shoulder.

The woman claimed this incident took place the night before, and that when she attempted to leave the home Moore allegedly would grab the woman and move her away from the door. Moore also allegedly prevented the woman from contacting authorities.

The victim would also tell police that another incident took place earlier in the day when Moore allegedly became upset and yelled at the victim. She stated that this time she was able to get out of them home. She stated that Moore would eventually leave for work.

Moore was arrested at his place of employment and booked into the Elk City Jail.

Moore was charged on August 25 with one count of kidnapping and one count of domestic abuse – assault and battery.

A $40,000 bond was set by a Beckham County Judge during his first court appearance on Friday.
