A Clinton man has been charged after allegedly attacking a woman in her home.

According to a probable cause affidavit, 27-year-old Jonathan Dana Addison is accused of going to the victim’s home in the 600 block of Modelle Avenue on the night of January 12 where he was invited inside by the woman. The victim would tell police that out of nowhere Addison allegedly punched the woman in the nose, causing her to fall to the ground. There, Addison would allegedly continue to punch and kick the woman in the head and face before leaving the home.

The affidavit stated that as a result, the woman suffered head and facial injuries that included a bloody nose, bloody mouth, and a laceration above her right eye.

The court document stated that Addison was later located by Clinton Police near the intersection of S. Sixth Street and Hayes. It was noted that after making contact with the defendant, he was allegedly acting belligerent and combative with the officer and at one point confessing that he was intoxicated.

Addison was arrested and booked into the Clinton City Jail.

He was charged the next day in Custer County District Court with one felony count of assault and battery resulting in great bodily harm AFC, due to previous felony convictions that also involved physical violence.

A preliminary hearing for Addison has been scheduled for February 24.
