Custer City Woman Dies in Blaine Co. Wreck

A two vehicle accident in Blaine County over the weekend has left a Custer City woman dead.

According to the collision report provided by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at 11:40 p.m. Saturday on US-270, 5 miles west of Watonga when a 2015 Nissan Pathfinder and a 2008 Chevy Tahoe were involved in a wreck.

Troopers said they are still investigating the cause and exactly what happened during the mishap.

As a result, the driver of the Pathfinder, 40-year-old Maribel Gonzales was pronounced deceased on the scene by Watonga EMS.

A passenger, 50-year-old Pablo Macias Avila was admitted into OU Medical with head and trunk internal injuries. Two other passengers were treated and released for minor injuries.

The driver of the Tahoe, 26-year-old Dylan Morris of Woodward was air lifted to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City where he was admitted in critical condition with leg and trunk internal injuries.

OHP listed the condition of both drivers as “apparently normal” and said that all occupants were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
