A couple of brown and white squads stamped their ticket into the playoffs last night. The Elk City girls’ soccer team is playoff bound after a sudden death shoot-out win against Harding Charter. The game was tied 1-1 at the end of regulation. It remained that way after two 10-minute overtime periods. The first round of 5 penalty kicks also resulted in a tie so to sudden death PKs we went.
Edney’s goal secures top 4 district spot
In the second round of the sudden death, Soph Camryn Edney buried her attempt in the lower left corner of the Harding Charter net to give the Elkettes a 6-5 win and also solidify their spot in the top 4 of the district which also earns a playoff spot in the 4A Girls Soccer playoffs.
Subhead: Big Elks lose 3-0
The Big Elks’ dreams of a postseason berth ended last night at the hands of Harding Charter in a 3-0 shutout loss.
