Elk City fire crews were kept busy early Sunday morning containing a house fire.
According to officials, the fire was suspicious in nature and remains under investigation.
Fire officials responded to the residential structure fire Sunday at 3 a.m. in the 1100 block of Western 1st Street. Firefighters arrived to find the home with heavy fire and heavy smoke emitting from the home. Crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire. Fortunately the home was unoccupied at the time of the blaze.
Fire officials said that due to the suspicious nature of the fire, both the Elk City Fire Department along with the Elk City Police Department are still investigating its cause.
