OKC Thunder Look to Even the Score as They Face Charlotte Hornets in a Crucial Home Game Tonight

The Oklahoma City Thunder have a chance to claw back to .500 with a home game tonight against the Charlotte Hornets. With only seven regular season games left, OKC is a game below .500 at 37-38. Currently, in the 10th spot in the Western Conference standings, the Thunder are in a position to earn a spot in the play-in tournament and eventually become a playoff team.

Must-Win Game Against an Inferior Opponent

The Thunder holds a one-game lead in the loss column over the Dallas Mavericks, which essentially gives them a two-game lead due to the Thunder holding the tiebreak over the Mavs. However, the team faces an inferior opponent in the Charlotte Hornets, who are fighting toward the bottom of the league standings and trying to amass as many lottery ping pong balls as they can in hopes of landing Victor Wenbenyama.

All-Star Shai Gilgeous Alexander Out

OKC will be without All-Star Shai Gilgeous Alexander tonight, which makes the game even more crucial for the Thunder. The team needs to come out strong and take advantage of this opportunity to secure a win against a weaker opponent.
